Fine Cell Work
This is Needlework done in prison giving hope, skills and independence to inmates.
Fine Cell Work is a charitable social enterprise that teaches needlework to prison inmates and sells their products. The programme aims to rehabilitate prisoners by giving them the opportunity to earn and save their money and the chance to reflect on and rebuild their lives through craft and achievement.
Fine Cell Work in now done is 26 prisons in the UK. 80% of stitchers are men. Inmates are taught by volunteers. There are waiting lists all over the UK for classes and for volunteer places.
