With the cold wet weather currently prevailing, what could be nicer than hunkering down indoors with a good bit of stitching. If you need some inspiration or just a quick pick-me-up then there are a few new things on offer.

We have just received the first design for this year's Loose Feathers Club and if you are a Blackbird designs Fan you will love it

This Year's project is a three-part sampler released in August, October and December. Each of the three leaflets also includes two bonus designs. With the first instalment you receive 30# hand-dyed fabric big enough for the whole sampler and the chart for Part One with any threads you need. The second and third instalments will be just the chart and any extra threads. The designs use hand-dyed threads, a mix of Crescent Colours and Gentle Art Threads. We are offering these threads at a 20% discount for the main sampler (not bonus patterns). DMC alternatives are provided but the discount does not apply here.

	Carre d' Abeilles. This cute little pincushion featuring bees is a great way to display special pins. Chart $20.50

	Newish from The Drawn Thread is this sampler called The Menagerie. A charming collection of bugs and other winged creatures. Includes ladybugs, moths, crickets, grasshoppers, gnats, beetles, worms and more. Great for the entomologist in the family. Chart $19.90
	Candace Bahouth's Tiger makes an interesting cushion if you fancy a bit of Needlepoint to while away the winter hours. Ehrman Kitset $150.00
	Christchurch Memorabilia. These bookmarks from Craftco would make a nice gift for a Cantabrian. Landmarks that sadly are no more can be fondly remembered as they mark the pages of a good read. Each kit $12.00
	Punto Antico Book 6 More gorgeousness (is that even a word? It should be.) from Bruna Gabbini and her pupils in San Giovanni in Persiceto is displayed in this, the latest in the series, and just when you thought there couldnâ€™t be anymore there isâ€¦â€¦ Book 6 $120.00
	Ciclamino Treasures in Mauve which is a collection of equally gorgeous small pieces in case you are not up to making tablecloths and bed linen. (Really, why on earth not, what are you doing with your time!!!) $95.00
	Celtic, Viking and Anglo-Saxon Embroidery by Jan Messent. This book is a feast for the eyes with its glorious photos & illustrations. It is full of inspiring projects which have drawn on pre-medieval influences from history and the life of early Britons and Scandanavians. Jan Messent explores the role of women and their embroidery and creates interesting projects which reflects their lifestyle. Her extensive historical knowledge, her creativity and skill with the needle breathes a new life into the knowledge of this ancient period. As a source of inspiration to comtemporary needleworkers this is book is one of the best and highly recommended. Hardback $70.00
