Dear Stitchfriends,

Such a busy start to the year that we haven't had time to do a newsletter before now.

Anyway you've probably been far too busy enjoying the wonderful summer weather we were having, though some of the time was too hot for anything but needlework.

However, no more excuses. Time to get down to some serious stitching.

Great news for crewel work lovers. After a long search and samples and emails to-ing and fro-ing we finally have Linen Twill in stock again. It is beautiful and we have it in natural and winter white. It is 135 cm wide and $160.00 a metre. Yes I know the price is terrible but have you seen what has happened to the exchange rates. Our dollar is almost at third world country levels again, but hey, never mind. We have all sorts of cut sizes so contact us if you have a project and we will work out a good size for you and the price won't seem so bad.

Also on the fabric theme, we have beautiful white embroidery linen which is perfect for bedlinen, tableware, monogramming etc. 140 cm wide $96.00 metre. Exquisite.

Wool Felt

Gorgeous rich autumn colours. Great for bags, toys, cushions, pincushions, needlebooks.

Felt is so easy to embroider on and looks fabulous with overdyed threads.

Flower Fairies in Ribbon Embroidery and Stumpwork $45.00

This is Di van Niekerk's new book and it is gorgeous. There are 5 fairies in the book. Panels for each one are also available at $29.90 or you can trace or print your own.

Heaps of ideas for stitching and embellishing the panels.

Embroidered Flora and Fauna; Three Dimensional textured Embroidery by Lesley Turpin Delport & Nikki Delport-Wepener.

Another fabulous book out of South Africa. They are certainly into interesting textiles over there. Must be the colours of Africa that inspire them. This book is packed full of luscious projects that use interesting fibres and beautiful threads and ribbons. $45.00

From La-De-Da designs these cute wee hearts make lovely little gifts or use as door ornaments or key tassels. Chart $16.90

More from Ink Circles. This pattern, I Still Do, has two charts. One is an anniversary sampler and the other an all occasions sampler but there are so many motifs you could do a myriad of things with. They work brilliantly in overdyed threads.

A great booklet to add to the stash $39.90

A new shipment from Victoria Sampler includes:

Forever and Always, a wedding or engagement sampler with a matching gift sachet for a bridesmaid or maid of honour.

Hearts Delight. This is a very useful leaflet with patterns from nametag, bookmark, pincushion and scissorfob.

A lovely set for someone starting out, either yourself or a gift for a friend or family member.
