Punto Antico Books
All the way from Italy
Punto Antico or Antique Cutwork is counted thread embroidery which is based on the alternation of open
space and filled in space creating geometric designs which are repeated in patterns to cover the required area.
The cultural association, Il Punto Antico, was founded in 1985 with the purpose of keeping alive the old traditions
and techniques of embroidery.
These four publications embody the work of Bruna Gubbini who is a specialist in this technique at the school. She has
taken inspiration from classic antique cutwork designs, re-interpreted them and created endless design possibilities.
The presentation in these books is outstanding with exquisite photography and excellent diagrams, illustrations and
multiple layout suggestions. There are no actual patterns, but explanations of all of all stitches and designs for
putting them together.
All Books are $130.00 each
